The Seed of ITBC
In November 2022 ITBC™ founder, The Garden Variety Witch, was gifted the opportunity to support a fellow practitioner by purchasing his socially-focused e-commerce website (vs. a forced total shutdown.)
After a brief discussion they came to an agreement and the sale was finalized on 12/ 2/ 2022. Being new to the realm of business ownership, The Garden Variety Witch needed to acclimate and familiarize to the new space, so, that's exactly what she gifted herself, the time and space to feel out the future of the brand.
Fast-forward through several site revamps, logo trials, copy experiments, and other small business snafoos, and here we are.
We at ITBC we know that every Practitioner of Life IS magic, and we are dedicated to the practice of putting our Magic In Action for a brighter, nourishing, and sustainable future.
We practice this by supporting impact-driven individuals, small businesses, and non-profits via the investment of our time, money, and tangible resources, and by leveraging our given and acquired privilege, status, and access to amplify the voices and businesses of LGBTQ+, BIPOC, women, other marginalized communities, and nonhuman individuals (read about our Forever Familiars Project.)

The Roots of ITBC
Growth, transformation, and volition are the hearty roots of ITBC, and we are here to offer you, fellow magical practitioner, some nourishment, tools, time, and space for your own cathartic exploration.
Deep and thick roots help us stand tall and steady in the modern face of injustice, and they always remember the sunshine through the dark and stormy moments. They also feed our leaves which offer others shade and shelter, and that in turn nourishes the blooms and all practitioners that come in after.
ITBC continues to grow in honor of those who never had the privilege of experiencing solid soil foundations, waters of truth, winds of change, nor warmth of light throughout their life's wild path.

Our Pre-Loved & Still Lovable inventory are new-to-you items sourced from secondhand stores, individual sellers, and similar places offering you magical tools without added burden on your money bowl.
These items of all kinds hail from histories that carry some air of mystery; they could have been many places and seen many things, or may have just been lost and forgotten by another human being.
However, despite their past stories, they've now found themselves in the midst of our Shop, offering new concepts for magical minds to explore... what opportunities will you find that helps amplify your Magic In Action?
Our Packaging Promise
ITBC's volition moves us in the direction of intentional, sustainable, daily magical practices where the hymn can be heard:
Refuse-Reduce-Ruse-Repair-Reclaim-Repurpose-Recycle
After you place an order, we cloak your choices in our absolute gratitude, then pack them with care using reused, reclaimed, repurposed, and recycled materials to ensure safe travels to you.
The packaging materials that we utilize include jars, containers, bags, paper, fabric, bubble-wrap, boxes, and more. And, when new-to-us items are absolutely needed we always source starting with secondhand, then small businesses, then corporations as a final resort.
Once you have received your order we encourage reuse of any packaging materials, and then come time of disposal, we recommend curbside recycling whenever possible and upcycling plastic, fabric, and other materials with one of our Affiliates, Ridwell.
We care about our packaging materials without compromising on their performance. If an item in your order arrives damaged, please Contact us with your order number, photos, and any other relevant information related to your order and we will find a remedy!
Founder: The Garden Variety Witch
The Garden Variety Witch (TGVW), a white LGBTQ+ female Millennial, is a lifelong admirer of humanitarian studies, animals of all species, and the beauty and bounty of our stunning planet.
She is an Aries sun, Gemini moon, Sagittarius rising, and a 1/4 Manifesting Generator in Human Design, naturally bringing fiery passion, curiosity and a love of exploration to everything she creates.
After a years-long dark night of the soul she discovered and started exploring various self-care methods, beginning with red light therapy and a new hair care regimen. Now she's here to share and inspire.
Since being gifted a first deck for a birthday, she has been reading tarot regularly since 2017 and is presently in the process of developing her own comprehensive 5x7 Tarot course to help fellow readers connect more deeply with themselves through the 78 cards.
TGVW is dedicated to helping other Practitioners of Life discover the true seeds of their magic, cultivate their inner soils of mind, body, emotion and spirit, and grow their best practice and path for the health, wealth, and wellbeing of self, people, and planet.
